Job Opportunities
The HighScope Foundation carries out research, curriculum development, training, and publishing related to the education of children and youth. HighScope primarily serves adults who work with children at the preschool, early elementary, and adolescent levels. Approximately 65 people are employed at HighScope in a variety of specialized fields. This includes researchers at various levels with a background in social sciences as well as consultants with HighScope training.
There are two teaching positions at the Demonstration Preschool. Outside of these, there are no other teaching positions on staff. The services of independent Field Consultants who are trained in the HighScope educational approach are used to implement training throughout the country. Research Associate I (posted April 16, 2010)
The Research Associate participates in the development, implementation, and reporting of multi-method, multi-site evaluative research on early childhood care and education programs. This includes planning and implementing all aspects of various research projects; writing grant proposals; writing and publishing research reports; attending meetings and professional conferences; and making presentations. We seek an experienced individual with a Ph.D. in a field related to educational psychology, human development, developmental psychology, education. Candidates should have three to five years of relevant work experience as well as demonstrated experience in writing for professional audiences and preparing grant applications. The qualified scholar will have strong social science writing skills, knowledge of early childhood educational practices, good organization skills, and work effectively with staff.
