The Preschool COR — Validated, Research-Based Assessment for Your Preschool, Head Start, or Home-Based Program!
Informative and User-Friendly!
The Preschool COR is an observational assessment tool for children aged 2½ to 6 years. It is designed to measure children's progress in all early childhood programs (including but not limited to those using the HighScope educational approach).
It looks at 32 dimensions of learning in six broad categories critical for school success: Initiative, Social Relations, Creative Representation, Movement and Music, Language and Literacy, and Mathematics and Science.
Teaching staff gather information to complete the COR in the course of everyday program activities, so COR assessment is seamlessly integrated with early childhood teaching and planning. The results provide detailed information on each child's development, as well as a variety of group reports analyzing progress for various audiences.
The Preschool COR Kit, Second Edition, includes all the materials needed for COR-based classroom planning, assessment, and reporting to parents, for one class of 25 children. Components are also sold separately (except for the Class Summary, which is packaged with the Child Information and Developmental Summary Forms).
